This Privacy Policy explains how Codex Interview ("Codex Interview", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by Bigocodes, collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use codexinterview.com, our desktop applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. We use Google Sign-In (OAuth) to authenticate you. When you sign in, we receive your name, email address, and Google account identifier from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Session and collaboration data. When you create or join a coding room, we store data needed to run the session: the room identifier, programming language, code and notes you enter, a participant roster (display name and account identifier of people who join), and visit records. Real-time collaboration and, where you enable it, screen sharing transmit this content live between participants so the Service can function.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number. We retain limited billing records such as your Stripe customer and transaction identifiers and your plan or pass status.

Code execution. When you run code, the code you submit is sent to our third-party execution provider (Judge0, via RapidAPI) to compile and run it, and the results are returned to you.

Technical and usage data. We automatically collect standard technical data such as IP address, device and browser type, and product usage/analytics events, including through Vercel Analytics. We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and operate the Service (authentication, rooms, collaboration, screen sharing, code execution, and playback); process payments and manage passes or subscriptions; maintain security, prevent abuse, and enforce our terms; provide support; understand and improve the Service; and comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal Bases (EEA/UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you request), legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve the Service), consent (where required, e.g. certain analytics), and compliance with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate the Service, under agreements that limit their use of it:

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then for the period required to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data as described below.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent.

California (CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

7. Cookies

We use cookies that are strictly necessary to authenticate you and keep your session active. We do not use advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Transfers

We and our service providers may process your information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and material changes may be communicated through the Service.
